Description

THIS PRODUCT: eco-neem is a registered organic insecticide for the control of a broad range of chewing and sucking insects including: caterpillars, curl grubs, grasshoppers (wingless), aphids, mites, lawn armyworm, citrus leafminer, whitefly, mealybugs and fungus gnats in soil. It will also control sooty mould. Overseas registration includes over 200 pest insects.

Made from extracts of the neem tree (Azadirachtin A & B) and mixed with other plant oils to enhance it’s stability and shelf-life.

eco-neem works in multiple ways with the two main actions being suppression of insect appetite (they starve to death) and restricting growth (unable to moult successfully). Plant damage stops as soon as the insect ingests eco-neem but insect death may take several days depending on their size and type.

eco-neem is safe for pets, birds, lizards and beneficial insects including bees. Avoid using around ponds and in aquaponics as it can be harmful to fish.

eco-neem is approved for use on ornamental plants only. It currently does not have approval for use on edible plants.

Features: Controls a very broad range of chewing and sucking insects, Stabilised neem extract with a 2 year shelf-life from Date of Manufacture, Very concentrated and used at low rates (2-3ml/L for most pests), Safe for beneficial insects including bees, Registered Organic (Australian Organic)

In General: Eco-Neem oil is a natural, organic insecticide and fungicide derived from the neem tree (Azadirachta indica). Neem oil has been used for centuries in various parts of the world for its pesticidal and medicinal properties. Eco-Neem oil is a specific brand or product name that offers neem oil in a ready-to-use form. Here’s a description of Eco-Neem oil and its common uses:

Description: Eco-Neem oil is made from the seeds of the neem tree, which is native to South Asia. Neem oil contains various biologically active compounds, including azadirachtin, which has insecticidal properties, and other components that have fungicidal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. Key characteristics of Eco-Neem oil include:

  1. Natural and Organic: Eco-Neem oil is considered a natural and organic product because it is derived from the neem tree and does not contain synthetic chemicals or additives.
  2. Broad-Spectrum Pesticide: It serves as a broad-spectrum pesticide, meaning it can be effective against a wide range of insect pests, including aphids, whiteflies, mealybugs, caterpillars, and more.
  3. Fungicide: Neem oil also has fungicidal properties and can help control fungal diseases such as powdery mildew, rust, and leaf spot.
  4. Safe for Beneficial Insects: Neem oil is often considered less harmful to beneficial insects like pollinators and natural predators compared to synthetic chemical pesticides.
  5. Biodegradable: It is biodegradable and breaks down relatively quickly in the environment, reducing the risk of long-term environmental harm.

Uses:

  1. Garden Pest Control: Eco-Neem oil is used to control a wide range of garden pests on various plants, including vegetables, fruits, flowers, and ornamentals. It can be applied as a foliar spray to deter and eliminate pests.
  2. Orchard and Fruit Tree Care: It is applied to fruit trees and orchards to protect against insect pests and fungal diseases, promoting healthier fruit production.
  3. Lawn Care: Neem oil can be used on lawns to control insect pests and fungal issues, such as lawn grubs and powdery mildew.
  4. Indoor Plants: It is safe for use on indoor houseplants to manage pests like spider mites, mealybugs, and scale insects.
  5. Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Neem oil is often used as part of integrated pest management (IPM) programs, combining cultural, biological, and chemical controls for sustainable pest management.
  6. Organic Farming: Neem oil is an important tool for organic farmers seeking natural solutions to pest and disease problems.

Overall: When using Eco-Neem oil or any neem oil product, it’s important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for dilution, application rates, and safety precautions. Neem oil can have varying levels of effectiveness depending on the pest or disease being targeted, so it may require repeated applications and is often used preventively. Additionally, it’s advisable to conduct a patch test on a small section of the plant to check for any adverse effects, as some plants may be sensitive to neem oil.
